Julian Sartorius invites you on a sensuous journey of discovery through Thun. Open the website on your smart phone: www.thunthunthun.ch. Then you will be prompted to take the next steps. Or come to the museum to borrow an audioguide for the discovery tour. Please use headphones.

Located in the former Grand Hotel Thunerhof, the Kunstmuseum is an integral part of the town of Thun. The works of regional artists in the collection show that the associations behind the works make a significant contribution to the history and townscape of Thun. In his sound work entitled Thun Thun Thun (2018), Julian Sartorius picks up the thread between the museum and the place. Since the onset of spring, the musician has searched the town centre for sounds, particularly focusing on the different materials and their nature, which usually remain unrecognised through mere observation. These include tree bark, iron bars, glass panes or wooden planks. The path leads from the museum to ten locations, which stand out due to their acoustic characteristics. Each three-minute track invites you to pause.

The tour can be completed individually, at your own pace. Keep your eyes and ears open!
