Locked Grooves

Julian Sartorius aims to test infinity. Focussing on reduction and repetition, he has recorded an album capable of suspending time. Exploring the potential of a repertoire performed under rigorous conditions and reglated by a loop length of 1.8 seconds, Sartorius responds with a disciplined focus on tonal nuances, micro expressions and shifting time signatures.

The album 'Locked Grooves' was released in 2022 on the label -OUS.

For the live situation, Julian Sartorius is playing drum beats to a spinning record with an endless groove on 33 1/3 rpm.
